Singles Night at the Pit Stop

Singles Night at the Pit Stop

As we push through the coldest part of the winter, it can get lonely if you’re on your own. Why not try to find that special someone who can help keep you warm until the spring? If things go well, you might even want to hang on to them for the summer. You’re definitely not the only person who’s single in the area, even if it might feel like you are. Right now, that special someone could be shivering alone at home, wishing for someone just like you to come along and wrap them up like a cozy thermal blanket.

“It’s a nice thought,” you say. “But that’s easier said than done.”

Don’t be so sure about that. As our world keeps moving at a faster and faster pace, you need to race to keep up. That’s why the Pit Stop Bar & Grill is holding a speed dating event during their special “Singles’ Night” tonight. The event starts at 8:30 PM and will last until 11 PM. Anyone wishing to participate in the speed dating event can register at the bar for a free drink voucher and a spot in the event.

“Oh, great,” you say, sarcasm slathering your voice. “Another way to make me feel like a huge loser.”

In all fairness, studies show that speed dating’s effectiveness has never been a consistent method of finding a partner. About 1 in 4 event participants will go home alone after finishing the event with zero matches. Only about 10% of people coupled at speed dating events continue the relationship beyond one night. However, on average, half of those participating in the even will have fun whether they get a match or not. Sometimes, enjoying the journey is just as valuable as reaching the destination.

From 8:30 to 11 PM, drinks at the Pit Stop will be 25% off for all patrons, regardless of marital status. If you do bring your partner with you, make it clear to them that you’re not window shopping. That’s a mistake you only make twice. The discount is on both alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks other than soft drinks.

So if you’re in the mood for dim lights, loud music, and questionable adherence to health code regulations, come on down to the Pit Stop Bar & Grill, located on Main Street near Van Sutton Park. Like their slogan says, “If you’re tired of slop, come to the Pit Stop!
