Grady Sloan: May 14, 1974-February 22, 2025

Grady Sloan was born on May 14, 1974 in Roanoke, Virginia to father Thomas Sloan and mother Margaret Sloan (née Fuller). He passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of February 22, 2025 in his home on the southwest side of Emerson Valley. Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Sloan, and his younger brother, Caleb Sloan. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Sloan, his wife, Rebecca Sloan, and his two children, Andrew and Lila Sloan.

Mr. Sloan passed away at his home following a sudden medical emergency. Known for his steady hand and quiet strength, Grady was a man who preferred action over words and loyalty over recognition. He spent much of his life working hard to provide for his family, rarely seeking praise but always deserving of it. Those who knew him best will remember his dry sense of humor, his unwavering dependability, and the calm presence he brought into any room.

The Sloan family finds comfort in the many years they shared with him, though his absence leaves a silence that cannot easily be filled. In keeping with his nature, arrangements will be simple and private.
