Oliver Price: August 12, 1957-February 15, 2022
Oliver Price was born on August 12, 1957 in Emerson Valley to Jonathan and Morgan Price. He died on February 15, 2022 from a self-inflicted wound at his expansive estate in town. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his mother, who died in a boating accident in 1979, and by his son Alex, who went missing during a camping trip to Blackwood Forest in 1999. He is survived by his wife Hilary Price (née Jefferson), 62, daughters Emily Long (Anthony Long), 37, and Jennifer Price, 32, and grandsons, Michael Long, 13, and Timothy Long, 10.
Mr. Price is known to most residents of Emerson Valley as the town’s former sheriff, serving in that capacity from 1994 to 2021. Despite his many years of faithful service, the people he dedicated his life to protecting turned on him after a coordinated smear campaign by government officials and prominent locals. Tragically, he did not get to enjoy his well-deserved retirement for very long.
Due to lingering feelings of public resentment, Mr. Price’s family has decided to hold a private funeral service for him. They ask that their fellow citizens respect their decision and allow them space to grieve. Mrs. Price has stated that if there is enough interest, they might hold a public memorial service in the spring.
