Erik Dwyer

Erik Dwyer: August 19, 1995-March 14, 2021

Erik Dwyer was born on August 19, 1995 in Detroit, Michigan to Donald and Mary Dwyer. He died on March 14, 2021 after he got pulled over Harrison Falls while fishing in Silver Creek River. Erik is survived by his parents and brothers Gavin and Paul.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2017, Erik was hired by Jorus Technology Solutions and moved to Emerson Valley. He was a very outgoing young man who seemed to make friends easily. Even though he has only lived in town for four years, he left behind many people who are mourning his passing.

Mayor Anthony Faulk has announced the creation of the Dwyer Scholarship in Erik’s honor. The mayor has generously donated $50,000 to get the funding started. Erik’s friends and family urge anyone wishing to honor his memory to donate to the scholarship as well.

A funeral service for Erik will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church on March 20th. Arrangements are being handled by the Powell Brothers Funeral Home. For more information, contact us at emersonvalleygazette@gmail.com.
