Lockdown Fireworks for the Fourth of July

The Emerson Valley City Council has voted to go ahead with the fireworks display from Van Sutton Park this year. However, the park itself will be closed to visitors, and only authorized personnel required to put on the fireworks show will be allowed in. They are recommending that residents watch the display from their own windows or yards. Avoid any big gatherings or parties and try to stay at least 6 feet away from other people while watching the show.

This might not be the ideal way to spend the Fourth of July, but it’s much better than the alternative. You can still make it a night to remember even without the typical backyard barbecues, cold beers with friends, and the Fourth of July Festival at the park. Bonanza Fireworks will be in charge of the fireworks display, just like they have been for the past eleven years. You can expect the same high-quality show that we’ve all gotten used to seeing every summer.

For anyone interest, Garrison’s Bar & Grill will be holding a fireworks “watch party” over Zoom from 7 PM to 11 PM. You can sign up on their website, and they will email you the link to the meeting ahead of the watch party. The fireworks display will begin at 8:30 PM on July 4th.
