The Pinecrest Library is the biggest and oldest library in all of Emerson Valley. Located on the corner of Pinecrest Lane and Cardigan Avenue, we have been serving this town since 1883. We believe in the democratization of knowledge, so you will never have to pay a membership fee in order to belong to the Pinecrest Library. All you need is to sign up for your free library card and start checking out our extensive collection of books in a wide range of genres.

Every summer, Pinecrest Library is among the sponsors of the Young Scholars of Virginia Summer Reading List Contest. You will be able to find the official reading list for each reading level posted near the front desk all summer long. High school students who join the contest have a chance to earn a $10,000 college scholarship! The first-place winners of all other reading levels will earn a $300 cash prize. Ten second-place winners will get a free Summer Reading List Contest book package with free copies of all the summer reading list books.
