Gertrude Wagner: August 6, 1940-November 21, 2019

Gertrude “Gertie” Wagner was born on August 6, 1940 in New Milford, New Jersey to father Robert Peterson and mother Anita Peterson. She was killed on November 21, 2019 in a car accident on Long Branch Road. Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, David Wagner.

She is survived by her children, including daughters Elizabeth “Liz” Sanderson (Thomas Sanderson), 46, and Mary Horner (Jason Horner), 43, and son Connor Wagner, 41. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Geraldine Sanderson, 24, Peter Sanderson, 20, Frederick Sanderson, 18, David Horner, 19, and Lucas Horner, 13.

The family of Mrs. Wagner wishes for her to be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, as well as the block parties she threw every year on the Fourth of July. She will be greatly missed, but they know she is at peace with her beloved husband and parents. A memorial service for Mrs. Wagner will be held at the Powell Brothers Funeral Home on November 24 from noon to 3 PM.
