If you’re looking to do something fun with the family this fall, check out Forman Farmstead’s annual Harvest Festival. Running between Sept. 14 and Nov. 3, the festival includes all the seasonal staples like hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin carving contests, and a special Halloween Trick or Treat event on Oct. 31.
Jed Forman, owner of Forman Farmstead, is excited to announce that this year’s Harvest Festival is extra special. “This’ll be our twentieth anniversary,” he said. “My dad started doing it when I was eight years old. I have a lot of fond memories of the festival. It’s my fourth year now since he passed, but when I’m running the hayride or playing Scarecrow Sam during the meet-and-greet, I feel like he’s right there with me.”
Speaking of Scarecrow Sam, Forman Farmstead is running a new contest throughout the Harvest Festival. Each weekend, Scarecrow Sam will appear in different locations around Emerson Valley. If you can find him, he’ll give you a treasure map to track down the hidden cache. The first person to uncover it will receive a special prize courtesy of Forman Farmstead.
You can find the farmstead just outside of town off Silo Road. Take Main Street south until you see the billboard, then turn left onto Silo Road. You can access Forman Farmstead via the unmarked dirt trail about 500 yards down Silo Road. For more information, you can contact our team at emersonvalleygazette@gmail.com.
